Juan Carlos Machorro is the head partner of the transactional and financial practice of Santamarina y Steta with 30 years’ experience of providing advice to local and international entities in the development of financial, infrastructure and M&A projects in Mexico. He is part of the restructure task force team and co-heads the ESG practice desk at the firm. His talent and knowledge have earned him multiple awards from recognised international institutions.

He earned his law degree from the Ibero-American University and completed postgraduate studies in international business and finance at New York University, management and leadership at Harvard Law School, global banking at Columbia Business School, project finance at Middlesex University in London, and management at Yale School of Management.

He is a member of the board of directors and different committees at several companies and organisations, has been a regular speaker in national and international forums and is the author of texts for Time Magazine, Forbes, Latin Lawyer and LatinFinance, among others.

Juan Carlos is a professor of commercial and civil law at Anáhuac University and has been a professor of M&A postgraduate courses at the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México in Mexico City.
