Johanna Skrzypczyk is counsel in Debevoise & Plimpton’s data strategy and security practice. Her practice focuses on counselling on privacy, cybersecurity matters, incident response issues and data strategy concerns. She has counselled clients in various industries, including retail, sports, financial services and private equity. Ms Skrzypczyk served for four years as an assistant attorney general at the New York State Office of the Attorney General’s Bureau of Internet and Technology, investigating and bringing enforcement actions against companies in matters involving consumer privacy, data security and virtual markets. She is an editor of the 2022 edition of the Practicing Law Institute’s Privacy Law Answer Book. Ms Skrzypczyk was an associate at Debevoise from 2010 to 2017, focusing on commercial litigation, cybersecurity and data privacy. Ms Skrzypczyk received a JD with honours from Columbia Law School in 2010. She graduated magna cum laude from Boston College in 2006.
