Mr Patrón is a partner at Payet, Rey, Cauvi, Pérez Abogados specialising in antitrust, regulatory law, telecommunications, energy, corporate law and civil law. He is also a professor of law at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru.
He has extensive experience in both the analytical and regulatory issues related to Peruvian competition law, covering a wide variety of industries. He has participated in leading antitrust cases, including the most emblematic pricefixing investigations carried out in Peru (i.e., regarding tissue paper, shipping conferences, PCC, LPG, drug stores).
Prior to joining the firm, he was a visiting associate at Sullivan & Cromwell LLP in New York. He has also been a senior associate at Andersen Legal, and has held the positions of technical secretariat for the Consumer Protection Commission, adviser for the Economic Studies Department, assistant clerk to the Tribunal for the Defence of Competition and assistant clerk to the Unfair Competition Commission at the National Institute for the Defence of Competition and the Protection of Intellectual Property.
