Isabel Franco leads the compliance, investigation and white-collar team at KLA-Koury Lopes Advogados. 

Franco has been voted as #1 leading corporate counsel in Latin America in Anti-Corruption and Compliance by the Latin American Corporate Counsel Association (LACCA) in 2014 and 2015. In addition, Franco is one of the “One Hundred Women in Investigation” indicated by the Global Investigations Review (GIR), 2015. She has been highly ranked in Chambers and Partners (Band 1) and recognised by Chambers Global 2018 as " Expert for USA”.

In 2017, Franco was appointed by the US Department of Justice and Securities Exchange Commission for the monitorship of Braskem (a joint venture of Odebrecht and Petrobras).

Franco was Transparency International’s expert respondent for Brazil from 2007 to 2015. She was also vice-chair of the International Bar Association (IBA)’s Anti-corruption committee until 2012.

Franco graduated from USP (São Paulo), has an LLM in international law from Fordham Law School (New York) and took the Program for Attorneys of Harvard University. She is actively engaged in the legal community, having served on the Council of the American Bar Association (Section of International Law) and the ABA-UNDP International Legal Resource. Franco was the chair of the International Law Section of the New York State Bar Association in 2001.
