About the Author
Fernando Marcondes’ areas of practice comprise construction, infrastructure, real estate and arbitration. He represents national and international clients in major operations involving infrastructure, industries and real estate buildings, legal management of construction contracts, negotiation and dispute resolution. He also acts as an arbitrator in construction and real estate matters.
Fernando Marcondes is president of the Brazilian chapter of Club Español de Arbitraje. He was appointed by the board of the Dispute Resolution Board Foundation as country representative in Brazil. He is also the founder and former president of the Brazilian Institute of Construction Law (IBDiC), vice president of the Infrastructure Law Commission of the Brazilian Bar Association (Rio de Janeiro), a member of the Construction Industry Superior Council of FIESP, a member of the Society of Construction Law (London) and of the Brazilian Arbitration Committee (CBAr). He is also an adviser of the Mediation and Arbitration Chamber, a university professor, and author of several books and articles. He has a master’s and a postgraduate degree in civil law.
