Tribunal rejects damages model in light of Venezuela's risky economy
Steelmakers from Portugal and Luxembourg have won US$172.8 million damages against Venezuela – less than a quarter of the amount sought – in an ICSID award that considers the damages valuation methods appropriate when dealing with expropriation in an unpredictable economy.
