Telecoms concession to shake up Telmex dominance
The consortium won't now have to make a contract with Telmex for long-distance phone and internet traffic
A consortium comprising Grupo Televisa, Telefónica and Megacable has secured a concession to operate Mexico's second-largest fibre optic network, with lawyers that helped prepare the bid saying the award 'will change the market by strengthening participants other than Telmex.'
