Telecoms 'census' will help create administrative database

CONATEL, the Venezuelan telecoms authority, announced recently that a census of all telecom and radio broadcasting operators holding concessions or permits granted prior to the enactment of the Telecommunications Law in June 2000 would start on April 30. The aim of the information-gathering exercise is to create a database for the Automated System for the Management and Administration of the Radioelectric Spectrum (Sistema Automatizado de Administración y Gestión del Espectro Radioelectrico, SAEGER).
