Techint buys stake in Brazil’s Usiminas

Argentina’s Mitrani, Caballero, Rosso Alba, Francia, Ojam & Ruiz Moreno and Brazil’s Mattos Filho, Veiga Filho, Marrey Jr e Quiroga Advogados have assisted Techint, Latin America’s second largest steelmaker, in its US$2.7 billion acquisition of shares in Usinas Siderúrgicas de Minas Gerais - Usiminas, in a deal that will change the balance of power among Usiminas' shareholders and block ongoing takeover attempts of what is Brazil’s second-largest steelmaker.
