Slow environmental review process should “never happen again” after HidroAysén, say lawyers
After years of waiting, the HidroAysén hydroelectric project in Chile’s wild Patagonian region has been blocked by an administrative council on environmental grounds, which lawyers say should not concern developers of other projects – so long as the authorities speed up their environmental review process.
