Sierra-led consortium wins two oil blocks in Mexico’s disappointing round one tender

A consortium comprised of Mexico’s Sierra Oil & Gas, US company Talos and the UK’s Premier Oil, and advised by Norton Rose Fulbright, Vinson & Elkins LLP in Houston, and Mexican firms Creel, García-Cuéllar, Aiza y Enriquez SC, Goodrich, Riquelme Asociados and Mijares, Angoitia, Cortés y Fuentes SC, has won two shallow water blocks in Mexico’s first oil tender in over 80 years – although the process fell far short of expectations.
