Secondary laws will prove crucial in Mexico’s energy reform
Energy reforms announced by Mexico’s ruling Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) party earlier this week have the potential to “revolutionise the Mexican oil and gas sector” as long as the secondary laws address a lack of detail in the government’s proposals and create the conditions for a competitive marketplace attractive to oil majors, according to the country’s energy lawyers.
