The overall theme of the conference is ESG and will kick off with an introduction to the topic by the conference co-chairs. That is followed by the first panel on environmental law and arbitration, where speakers will discuss the impact of climate change and the covid-19 pandemic on local policies and key issues investors and states should consider.
The second panel will explore the role of social and human rights in the international arbitration landscape. A panel on governance and arbitration will follow. Speakers will discuss the increasingly important role of good governance and corporate conduct in dealmaking and business behaviour, looking at key issues from an arbitration perspective.
A returning feature of the Latin Lawyer and Global Arbitration Review conference is the punchy inquisition-style Q&A, which once again will end the arbitration summit. Panellists will drive the discussion on the implications of ESG for arbitral procedures and overview the challenges to international arbitration caused by the pandemic.
