Prudential buys stake in Chilean and Peruvian pensions

The New York office of Debevoise & Plimpton LLP, Chilean firm Claro & Cía and Peru’s Rodrigo, Elías & Medrano Abogados are helping US financial services company Prudential Financial buy up to 40 per cent of Chilean pension fund manager AFP Habitat for US$620 million from its Chilean owner, Inversiones La Construccion (ILC), as part of a joint venture agreement between the pair.
