Mexico focus: Building for the future

Last year was a momentous one for Mexico thanks to the sweeping reforms that took place and the record levels of investment that poured in from overseas, so Mexican law firms have good reason to be feeling bullish about 2014. But rather than fully succumb to the optimism of some, they are reserving the right to be cautious; the new laws still need to be put to the test – many are still awaiting regulation – while the government will have to put its weight behind their enforcement. Meanwhile, the cloud of corruption still hangs over the country.
