Rainmaking has long held a fascination for lawyers. Across Latin America’s legal communities, stories are traded of rainmakers who, apparently expending little more effort than it takes to attend a succession of lunches or play a few rounds of golf, manage to consistently bring in a steady stream of big-name clients for their firm year after year. Speculating on just how they do it has become a staple of conference chatter.
