Lawyers welcome Honduran enterprise zone but urge patience

An ambitious plan by the Honduran government to set up semi-independent development zones that could result in investment disputes being heard in foreign courts has been welcomed by the country’s lawyers as a step forward in freeing cases from the “traffic of influences and corruption” within the domestic legal system, but they warn that appeals against the legislation before the Supreme Court mean it is unlikely to come into effect for a long time yet.
