ICSID panel holds Venezuela liable for Conoco expropriation
An ICSID tribunal has ruled that Venezuela breached an investment treaty by failing to negotiate in good faith with ConocoPhillips over compensation for expropriated oil assets – while rejecting other claims brought under the treaty and a foreign investment law.
