Government approval only ‘cause for delay’ in BP sale, says source

China’s CNOOC and Argentina’s Bridas Energy are still confident that the acquisition of a 60 per cent stake in Pan American Energy from BP would go through and it is “just up to the government” to approve the buy, according to a source close to the deal.
