Chile has passed a by-law forcing companies to label processed foods high in calories, salt, saturated fat and sugar and banning advertising to children under the age of 14, but the legislation has generated a sharp backlash from the food industry, which says it violates their trademark and commercial rights and is unfairly implemented.
