CADE clears major telecoms merger but opens cartel probe

Brazil’s antitrust watchdog CADE conditionally approved the takeover of Oi by three of the country’s largest telecom operators on the same day that it accepted a recommendation by the federal prosecutor’s office to open an investigation into the acquirers over suspected collusion.
