Brazilian court sets ICC enforcement straight
The dispute arose following the sinking of the P-36 platform in 2001
Brazil's Superior Court of Justice has confirmed that ICC awards issued by tribunals seated locally are domestic awards for enforcement purposes - in a case that counsel say could have damaged the country's appeal as an international arbitration venue had it gone the other way.
