Asian oil marches into Colombia
In the largest deal of its kind, China's Sinopec and ONGC of India have bought a joint stake in a Colombian oil company for US$850 million. The transaction is China's largest direct investment in Colombia to date, and one of the first instances of Chinese and Indian state-controlled companies co-operating in the race to acquire global energy assets.
