Four months after the expropriation of YPF, a new law handing Argentina’s government increased regulatory powers over the country’s oil and gas sector has met with a mixed reaction, with some claiming it sends a “disturbing signal” to investors and “breaks the pillars of deregulation” while others argue it will improve planning in the sector and may increase investment.
