When Barclays pulled its wealth management fund out of Argentina at the beginning of January, the British bank cited the difficult regulatory environment as a reason for its departure. As Argentina amends its criminal code this year, paving the way for new white-collar crimes, some of the country’s lawyers are wondering if an exodus of foreign banks might follow.
