Amendments to the Chilean capital market
Significant amendments have been made to the rules governing the Chilean capital market (the New Capital Market regulations). The changes, which involve a major restructuring of the current capital market regulations, will take effect as of November 7. They encourage local savings, provide better and cheaper financing for emerging businesses, promote competition in the local financial market, and aim to eliminate the current obstacles to the free flow of financing into and out of the country.
