Early booking rate for Latin Lawyer Live Private Equity expires tomorrow

A discounted early booking rate for Latin Lawyer Live Private Equity – which takes place on Tuesday 8 October in New York expires tomorrow.

Private practitioners can buy discounted tickets for the conference here until close of business on Friday 30 August. In-house and government lawyers go free.

The managing director and head of Latin America at private equity investor General Atlantic will deliver the keynote address at the conference, which is co-chaired by Todd Crider of Simpson Thacher & Bartlett in New York and Jean Michel Enríquez of Mexico’s Creel, García-Cuéllar, Aiza y Enríquez. It takes place on Tuesday 8 October at Simpson Thacher’s New York office. 

Before joining General Atlantic in 2012 Escobari was a managing director at Advent International, where he focused on the financial services sector. Prior to that, he was co-founder and CFO of Submarino.com, a leading Brazilian online retailer that went public on Brazil’s Bovespa and was sold to Lojas Americanas in 2006. He started his career as a management consultant at The Boston Consulting Group.

Patricia Menéndez-Cambó, deputy general counsel at SoftBank and Cate Ambrose, president and executive director at the Latin American Private Equity & Venture Capital Association (LAVCA) are also set to speak.

The conference will feature a bankers’ panel, where leading private equity bankers discuss the current deal flow, opportunities and challenges in Latin America, as well as a session on Latin America’s technology boom and the opportunities for investors within. Additional panel discussions will delve into the do’s and don’ts of private equity dealmaking in 2019; what private equity entities tainted by corruption scandals should do to avoid reputational damage; and the future of fundraising across the region. The closing panel will consider private equity success stories from the region by taking a close look at recent exits.
