New Brazilian law firm De Paula Dias has bolstered its disputes practice by hiring an associate from Hogan Lovells LLP’s former Rio de Janeiro office as of counsel.

Carolina Machado joined the two-partner firm in São Paulo on 17 April. She practises international arbitration and compliance law. Machado spent the last four years at Hogan Lovells and has previously worked at Herbert Smith Freehills in London and Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP in Paris. Before that she was an international counsel at the International Centre for Dispute Resolution, which is the international division of the American Arbitration Association.
