García Sayán hires from mining company after partner departure

Peru's García Sayán Abogados has added firepower to its core natural resources practice by recruiting an in-house lawyer only two months after another mining partner departed.

Edgardo Portaro, 46, joins García Sayán’s natural resources and environmental law practice from Nyrstar Mining. He spent the last six years as the company’s regional counsel for Latin America, managing its operations in Chile, Honduras and Peru. Portaro has also worked in-house at oil company Pluspetrol and power company Enel. He has previous private practice experience from CMS Grau.
