Stocche Forbes guides massive Xingu Rio project finance deal

Brazil's Stocche Forbes Advogados has helped Chinese power transmission company Xingu Rio obtain project finance worth 5.3 billion reais (US$1.4 billion) from BNDES in one of the state-owned development bank’s largest loan agreements to date.

Both Xingu Rio’s parent company, Chinese state-owned power company State Grid, and BNDES relied on their in-house teams for counsel. The transaction closed on 21 December.
