With the main stock exchange index in Brazil hitting historical highs and more IPOs this year than in the previous three combined, there are reasons to be cheerful if you work in the country’s capital markets. For trained lawyer Renteria, the rosier outlook for the country’s economy and plunging inflation and interest rates are the main drivers behind the recent surge in activity. But new regulations issued by his agency have also been a factor, helping usher in greater transparency and accessibility, he explains.
