A former Pemex and National Hydrocarbons Commission (CNH) lawyer has joined Iberian firm Cuatrecasas’ office in Mexico City as partner.

Cuatrecasas announced the hire of infrastructure and energy lawyer Marco de la Peña, 54, last Friday. He joins four other partners in the Mexico City office, where Mexican-qualified partners now outnumber their Spanish counterparts three to two. He will lead the office’s energy efforts and bring his extensive knowledge of public law to bear on the infrastructure and telecoms practices.
