Chile has slashed energy prices by introducing new power-purchase agreements (PPAs) that have encouraged renewable power players to enter the market, but the government must do more to promote funding for gas-fired power stations, heard delegates at Latin Lawyer's 4th Annual Regional Project Finance Summit in Washington, DC last week.
