Argentina looks to neighbours to boost FDI

After a decade of populist government, Argentina must draft or rewrite a vast array of legislation – from renewable energy PPAs, to shale gas project financing, and merger control provisions – to encourage foreign investment and prevent excessive concentration in the domestic market. But while the task may be daunting, the government can learn a lot from success stories just over its border in Brazil and Uruguay, heard panellists at Latin Lawyer’s 7th annual M&A conference.
