Ramón Arias is an expert on taxation, corporate, and commercial law, with emphasis on mergers and acquisitions. Mr Arias has led teams in the most complex mergers and acquisitions operations involving national and foreign corporations, advised national and foreign clients in connection with the development and structuring of the main loan syndications and securitisations, participated in several corporate and financial restructuring procedures, designed tax planning strategies, and provided overall legal counsel and representation to corporations. He leads the legal counsel teams for the largest real estate development projects.
Mr Arias is a founding member of Fundación Calicanto and Icomos Panama, organisations working in favour of cultural heritage and historic sites’ protection in Panama. Mr. Arias also is part of the board of directors of the panama Chapter of Transparency International.Education: Tulane University (JD, 1989); Georgetown University (BA, 1987).
