Founding partner. Mr Arias has served as Panama’s Ambassador to the United Nations (2004), Panama’s Minister of Foreign Relations (1998), and Panama’s Ambassador to the United States (1994). Additionally, he is a founding director and former President of La Prensa, Panama’s daily newspaper, as well as a founding director and First President of the Panamanian Stock Exchange. He sits on the board of directors of Banco General de Panama and COPA Airlines. Mr Arias is an expert on administrative, international and commercial law, with a focus on banking and corporate law; as such, he was a professor of tax and administrative law at Santa Maria La Antigua University, Panama, from 1973 to 1978.
