Lionel Francisco Aguilar is a founder partner of Consortium Legal Guatemala. His main areas of practice are criminal law and labour law.
During his career, he has served as legal director of Guatemalan Liquor Group; as adviser on labour-related and social welfare issues for local and multinational groups, banks and local companies; as representative of labour organisations in world congress held in Argentina, México and Poland; as negotiator of collective agreements on working conditions; as participant in labour justice commissions carrying out comments and proposals for amendments to the labour code and other ordinary law under that issue.
Mr Aguilar has been professor of labour law at Universidad Rafael Landívar and Universidad del Istmo in Guatemala. He attended Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala, concluded a master’s in criminal law at Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala and has a postgraduate in criminal law from Universidad de Salamanca, Spain.
He is a member of the Guatemala Bar Association, Asociación Guatemalteca de Trabajo y Seguridad Social (founder member) and Asociación Iberoaméricana de Juristas del Derecho del Trabajo y la Seguridad Social.
Mr Aguilar has published many articles such as: “Juridical Assets, Victim and Criminal Sanction” published in Auctoritas Prudentium Magazine, School of Law, Universidad del Istmo, Guatemala and “Compensation in the Guatemalan Public Sector”, School of Law, Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala.
