The Mexico City Office plays a critical role in the firm's Latin America Practice working closely with colleagues in São Paulo, Miami, Houston, Madrid and New York, and as well as with those in our other offices in the US, Europe, Asia, Australia, and the Middle East, in connection with matters in Mexico and throughout the region. The office has over 70 fee earners providing legal services to domestic and international clients doing business in Mexico and throughout the world.
Investigations and white-collar defence: Advise on complex compliance programmes, in Latin America regarding business conduct, antitrust conduct, gift policies, trade and commercial compliance including advising on the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and Mexico’s legal framework against corruption.
Banking and finance: Broad range of commercial financing transactions, representing commercial banks, merchant banks, investment banks, placement agents, trust companies, commercial financing and leasing companies, borrowers/capital users, lessees and equity investors.
Capital markets: Represent companies and financial intermediaries in capital-raising transactions, from early-stage venture financings for start-up companies to public debt and equity offerings for seasoned issuers.

International trade and customs litigation: In-depth knowledge of domestic trade, foreign trade and customs laws, in addition to free trade agreements and WTO and WCO regulations. regularly assist domestic and international manufacturing, retail, mining, steel and energy companies with a focus on importing and exporting procedures, and day-to-day foreign trade and customs operations.
Mergers & acquisitions: Represent buyers, sellers, financial advisers, merchant bankers and other parties in all kkinds of transactions. We participate in cross-border operations, as well as representing Latin American companies wishing to do business outside the region.
Project finance and infrastructure: Complex financings in sectors such as power generation, power transmission and distribution, telecommunications, transportation, waste management, manufacturing and general infrastructure.
Real estate: Proven successful experience in all kinds of cross-border real estate transactions, including acquisition, disposition, leasing and development of residential buildings, retail and industrial and commercial properties.
Tax: Focused on tax planning, tax advisory and the implications of international tax and commercial treaties on a wide range of transactions offering comprehensive tax advice on cross-border mergers and acquisitions, financing transaction and foreign investments. Substantial experience in tax litigation, representing clients before the Mexican tax authorities, the Mexican Federal Tax Court and the Mexican Supreme Court of Justice.
TMT: Our lawyers have led major transactions that have shaped the telecommunications market in Mexico, particularly the mobile and satellite industries.
