Brazil’s BTG Pactual snaps up BVA’s distressed loan portfolio

Galdino, Coelho, Mendes Advogados has helped BTG Pactual’s debt recovery unit Enforce acquire Banco BVA’s non-performing loan portfolio for 211 million reais (US$65 million).

Álvarez and Marsal, which BVA appointed as trustee in September 2014 when it filed for bankruptcy, turned to De Luca, Derenusson, Schuttoff e Azevedo Advogados. BVA’s largest shareholder enlisted Thomaz Bastos, Waisberg, Kurzweil Advogados for the deal, which closed on 4 October.
