Jones Day, Weil Gotshal, Mattos Filho and Mundie ink Nextel Brazil sale

The São Paulo office of Jones Day and Brazil’s Mattos Filho, Veiga Filho, Marrey Jr e Quiroga Advogados have helped NII Holdings reach a US$200 million deal with Norwegian telecoms company AINMT to jointly operate Brazilian mobile network Nextel.

US firm Weil, Gotshal & Manges and Brazil’s Mundie e Advogados advised AIMNT. The deal, which was signed on 6 June, marks the Norwegian player’s entry to the Brazilian market. It is set to close in early 2018.
