Pemex sells infrastructure capacity for the first time

González Calvillo, SC has helped Texan oil refiner Tesoro win a tender to use Pemex’s storage and transport capacity in northwest Mexico.

State-owned oil and gas producer Pemex awarded Tesoro the three-year contract on 2 May. The US company beat off competition from 22 other companies, including the likes of BP, Chevron and Shell. While no values were disclosed, Pemex did reveal that Tesoro’s bid was 10% higher than that of its closest competitors and above the tender’s minimum threshold.
