Azul Airlines raises 2 billion reais in long-awaited IPO

Shearman & Sterling LLP in New York and Brazilian firm Pinheiro Neto Advogados have helped Azul Airlines raise 2 billion reais (US$645 million) in an initial public offering – the first dual listing by a Brazilian company on the New York and São Paulo stock markets since 2011.

Citigroup, Deutsche Bank, Itaú BBA, JP Morgan, Corretora de Câmbio, Títulos e Valores Mobiliários, Banco de Investimento, Banco Bradesco, Banco Santander, Raymond James and Banco Safra were underwriters and turned to Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom LLP’s São Paulo office and Brazil’s Lefosse Advogados.
