First social impact bond programme implemented in Colombia

Baker McKenzie (Colombia) and Durán & Osorio Abogados Asociados have helped structure a social impact bond programme (SIB), backed by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the Swiss government, that plans to stimulate employment in Colombia and is the first SIB implemented in a developing country.

The Colombia Workforce SIB is an employment-focused scheme that will see Colombian government entity Prosperidad Social provide skills-training, intermediation services and employment support to unemployed people in Bogotá, Cali, and Pereira.
